Standard National and National 14x12 Nucleus Colonies Available for Collection at RH19, East Grinstead.
2 nr 6 Frame Standard British National nucleus colonies, £265 each (£20 in advance £245 on collection) plus a refundable deposit of £55 for the Payne’s nucleus box and strap.
4 nr 6 Frame National 14x12 nucleus colonies, £295 each (£20 in advance £275 on collection) plus a refundable deposit of £65 for the Payne’s nucleus box and strap.
The National 14x12 format is suited for more prolific colonies (with one and a half depth extended brood frames), although the downside is that these are heavier to handle and better for experienced beekeepers.
The above are all strong 2022 mated nucleus colonies with white marked queens, of good temper and which are available for collection in the East Grinstead area from Sunday 19th June 2022.
All nucleus colonies are sold in accordance with BBKA guidelines.

All 3 are 2020 splits, with new laying queens. They are mostly on jumbo frames with

2 x National Standard 6 Frame overwintered Nuc’s (Paynes Poly Nuc’s) headed up by marked 2016 Buckfast Queens also supplied by Paynes. Treated with Apiguard in September and acid during December.

1 x Full Colony of Sussex Mongrels housed in a 12 x14 Jumbo Paynes Polyhive - quiet on the comb and nice to handle, this strong and productive hive is headed up by a 2016 Queen descended a few generations back from my super bee, Ruby, a Buckfast Queen extraordinaire! I took over 100lb of honey off this hive last year.
Sale includes cedar stand, plastic queen excluder, crown board and two poly supers with frames and this colonies drawn comb ready for the honey season. I will also supply this hive with a used empty cedar 12 x14 Jumbo Nuc box. Both hive and cedar nuc box are in good order and are around 3 years old.
This colony has not been inspected recently, but has been treated for varroa with Apiguard in September and acid in December. (n.b. the cedar eek shown is not included in sale)

2 x National Standard hives and colonies (mixture of soft and hard wood componentry as shown). The hives are both serviceable but not pretty! Both these colonies are extremely strong local dark bees and these are what I’d call ‘assertive bees’ - Unsuitable for beginners without re-queening, these hives are both early 2016 prime swarms that built very quickly and strongly over the summer and gave exceptional honey yields last autumn.
Both have overwintered very well on single brood and have just been fed with fondant to boost stores. Included in the sale is the Cedar hive stand, queen excluder, crown board, solid floor and two supers with a mixture of drawn and undrawn super frames ready for the coming season.
These colonies have not been Bee Inspector inspected, but have been treated for varroa with Apiguard in September and acid in December.

2016 3 Langstroth Complete colonies East Sussex SOLD
I am, after many happy years, beingreluctantly forced to retire from beekeeping.
I have For Sale, 6 over-winteredcolonies (three sold) of gentle locally breed bees. I have inspected thesebriefly, and they are all very healthy with eggs and various stagesof brood . They are building up good store reserves and bringing inloads of yellow pollen. They are housed in Langstroth hives,consisting of a mesh floor, brood box with Hoffman frames, queenexcluder and 2 supers with Manley frames, cover board and lid.
They were not fed this winter, nor werethey treated with oxalic acid and have all come through remarkablywell, and strongly. All of them have at least 6 frames of bees butmost of them, more.
Price: £235 each (£25 in advance £210 on collection) - to include beesand used hives as described.
I also have For Sale, approximately 10used Langstroth hives, consisting of floor, mainly mesh, brood boxwith frames and a super with frames and a lid. I am letting thesego for £60 each for a quick sale. (£10 in advance £50 on collection)

2015 nucs with 2015 laying queens

3 nucs in 6 frame British National standard Poly Boxes, with newly wild mated &
laying 2015 Queens- marked blue. Source hives were treated for varroa with acid in
December & Apiguard in September.
I nuc ready now, the other two will be ready by the end of June.

2015 UK bred, over wintered, honey bees in a 6 frame BS poly nucs
Experienced, professional beekeeper has a number of UK bred, over-wintered, 6 frame, BS national nucs for sale, available in April / May 2015.
This beekeeper has worked for a commercial bee farm in the South East and was responsible for producing hundreds of honey bee nuclei and full size colonies to private beekeepers and commercial bee farms alike. He also has FERA accreditation for disease recognition and control (DASH).
These bees will have been treated, healthy and inspected prior to delivery / collection. They will also comply with FERA guide lines for sale of bees, as an absolute minimum. This includes brood disease guarantee. The bees will be sold in a high density polystyrene nucleus box, which is yours to keep. They will have a travel screen fitted to the top, so that the bees don't over heat on the journey home. This housing will be adequate for the short term (i.e. hours or maybe a day or two), but will need to be transferred into a full size hive to allow them room to expand as soon as possible.
Optional extras include a delivery / installation services, so that you can be sure of safe transfer into their own hive (i.e. no squashed queens). This service is offered for an additional £40, plus 40 pence per mile (both ways) from the Burgess Hill area.
You're welcome to pick up your bees in person. In which case, you might be interested in the following. For an additional £10, we can cage your queen the day before, thereby easing the transfer into your own full size hive.
Price for these professional quality nucs is a very reasonable £195 each. (A £20 deposit in advance the balance payable on delivery / collection).

Three strong established colonies in Langstroth hives with 2 spare empty hives, a tray feeder on furthest hive, 2 jacket beehoods, a large hand cranked stainless spinner able to do langstroths or nationals with insert, sieve, hive tools & sundries to sell.
Ideal for a beginner who would like to set up in one go.
Hives & kit in good shape but bees suffering prolonged periods of neglect due to working away - means they deserve a more committed landlord.
Located in East Sussex.
I can deliver up to 30 miles if required
I have had them about 12 years, (the deal hives) & have added Thornes supers, cedar hives & the white deal hive parts during past 5 years.
They all have mesh floors & queen excluders
I treat for varoa & usually rob in August but yet to rob this year.
I usually leave outer frames put & return spent frames for them to clean up.
They have an easy undisturbed life these days.
